Captain Logan Lyda

USCG and TPWD Licensed and insured fishing guide. I have been fishing the Texas Coast from South Padre Island to Port Lavaca for the past 12 years. The most recent three have been spent fishing here in Corpus Christi. Currently I am docking out of a private dock in Flour Bluff, TX. When conditions allow, sight casting to redfish with artificial lures is what I love. On other days we may be drifting color changes, potholes, or casting at some form of structure in deeper water. The number one thing on any of my trips is that you have a stress free day on the water. Time spent on the water should be relaxing. A chance to see the beautiful sights and hear the beautiful sounds of the Laguna Madre. Catch and Release is appreciated on trips, but if you want to take some home that's ok too. Let's just try to be responsible with our resource. It is still recovering from the freeze and the pressure is ever increasing.

The Fleet

We've got options.

1989 Shallow Sport 18' Classic

The classic flush decked "scooter" boats that were made famous on the Shallow Waters of the Laguna Madre. This is a stable fishing platform and I can take up to 3 people drift fishing on it at a time(4 if it's a kids trip, or just cruising/wade fishing).  The Shallow Sport Classic was designed for our bays and excels in shallow flats. The boat was repowered in 2023 with a Suzuki 140. So it is a reliable fishing machine.

2021 Ankona Shadowcast 18

A true poling skiff. For those who are serious about sight casting in shallow waters, this is the boat for you. There is a need for some balance with this boat though. It's possible to run trips with two , but only one will be standing on the front casting at a time. For solo anglers, there is probably no better way to sight cast our bays. This is also the best boat for ecotours as I can pole two people through the extreme shallow backwaters to see shore birds and all nature has to offer up close and personal.
